My Rex Blog 1.3 (Rims Repaint)

hi there...lama dh rasanya tak blog, busy body sket skarang menjaga body.so here is a bit of what i've been doing lately.....

last month got my rims for resprayed.its looked awful before (if u knew).too much scratch, pitted, torn and wore paint....duhhh.i've been planning for this about....maybe a very very very long time ago,but i really dont have much time to spend on it,so the saga continue.....until further notice....maybe until somebody come and kick my rims in front of me..try me then....

this is the before pics

got my equip ready.for the project im using nippon pylox spray can since the product work well even in industrial condition and won't crack under extreme sunlight (other product may differ due to procedure taken...some will not fail too,if the process is right)

the product

first process, scaling the old paint.since it was flaking and i think its easier to just use scrapper rather than sand paper.sand paper gonna take much more time and effort to perform and i couldn't afford that. that gonna be the last process....

watch me performing my job vigorously...and the black paint is gone!!!

small part that is quite annoying, the small lips....

after all the paint removed, the rims will be sand papered starting at 500 grit until 1000 grit. actually its easy if you're using paint remover acid but i don't prefer it since im not taking off my rubber.if u want to do this on the rim only, then the paint remover will be much much more easy work.please be careful.....

after some prep and first thin coat...flat black...but its shiny!!!!

close up

while i left the thing outside under shadowed sun, there was a bit rain called 'gerimis' (hahahhaha,i forgot the word, damn!!!!!) and it affect the small part of the process......

small spot of rain drop....i try my best to suck it clean then, but the trace was still there, until it was fully dry,the spot is spotless!!nasib baik.....

so the final result is like this...tadaaaaaa!!!!shoot...!!!!

for now i only manage to do the front pair only, wait till i have enough time to repaint the back pair also.right now it doesn't look so good, feel like im wearing 'rim kahwin'.....hahahahah.nevermind,i'll be getting new rim after all, waiting for cheap spoon 16" sw888 for sale....it's on my wishlist...then...dunno.i don't wanna list all down here.....finish for now.please comment.thank you.

Castrol Mugen NSX GT

I think this one is for year 2005/6, last time when i went to sepang i did saw this model,i guess...hehe. i got this from my brother's friend in Japan cost around 1680 yen (i dunno the currency so u do the math). i bought 3 model of Tamiya Japan kit to fill up boredom.

the process to complete this kit was truly a worth-full pain in the arse.i've spent about almost 2 weeks straight (exclude my working time) to finish this. the only regret on this was i don't have an airgun+airbrush to paint it,so i have to use my shaky hands' skill...duhhh...

realizing the detail of the '3.5 V6' Open TB engine block that come in separate packaging makes me wonder how the Tamiya people study this before transforming it to still model.maybe u guys think that it wasn't hard, but trust me,u ain't think that deep enuff until u try to assemble it.

one more thing that kinda frustating me was,i can't get the right paint for the wing and its front nose scheme.it should be the 'Fluorescent Red' colour, but after making all my way to most of the Tamiya & Toycity store, still there was not in stock.maybe because the colour was rarely used by other model so it's going to be kindof 'rare',maybe. for the solution,i've try to mix it up with whatever i have in my box praying that it might turn into the almost same colour scheme i wanted it to be.guess what,u will NEVER get the same colour as what they want u to buy......hahahahahah.....padan muka aku

here's a bit info on the kit

About the Castrol Mugen NSX

The Japanese GT Car Championships were inaugurated in 1993, and are becoming more popular with motorsports buffs throughout domestic Japan. Honda has sent two of NSX into the Championships since 1997. The original monocoque made of aluminum was reinforced by roll cage, and most parts of the body shell such as front hood, fenders and doors were replaced by carbon fiber for light weight. In 1998, four of NSX were sent into the opening race.

This NSX was refined based on high-down-forced, lower-weighted and improvement of maintenance. For example, the front wing was refined, and the fins of both sides of the bumper were added. In addition, the rear wing was large-sized with sub-wings to the end. The shape from its rear fender to rear side was aerodynamically designed, another reason why Castrol Mugen NSX had high-speed and its stability was its power plant. The engine mount was lowered by 15mm by changing its layout. This 3,5 V6 DOHC powerplant tuned by Mugen still obtains its power although the race regulation was more strict. One of the noticeable points of this car is its daring design. It's colored in white, green and fluorescent red based on black.

The drivers are Osamu Nakako, the champion of 1997 JGTC and Ryo Michigami, a new driver. At the number 3 Sendai-Highland, Michigami took the pole position in front of a jubilant crowd. This Castrol Mugen NSX has proven itself to be as worthy as Honda power.
